Crystal Lakes Golf Course
About
Crystal Lakes is a municipal golf course located next to Dillon Park in Sumter. The course originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1989 but expanded due to popularity. It offers plenty of challenges but it is a course that will reward good course management and strategy but it is not overly punishing if you're errant off the tees. The course quickly introduces you to its challenges with water hazards coming into play on the first five holes. The opening hole is a tricky par 3 that has a unique peninsula green. The rest of the par 3s on this course are no easy feat either. Crystal Lakes may not be the area's most challenging but it is one of the best values in a destination that is known for its golf.

Very enjoyable round.
Pretty course, some interesting/challenging holes. Greens rolled true. Very enjoyable round.
You get what you pay for
Let me start by saying that’s this course is truly fun to play the amount of water on the back 9 will have you cursing yourself if you don’t play it right. If this course was tended to properly it would be one of the best I’ve played. Sadly due to lack of watering and cutting the fairways and greens can be a little tricky. Overall I love playing here with my father every other week the price alone is what brings us back.
Decent course for the money.
Course was in ok shape, many of the greens were in rough shape. Some of the staff was not friendly at all, they’ll just stare at you when you walk in to the main shop area. Overall it was ok for the price, probably will play again.
Always a great deal
Course was a little soggy after all the rain this past weekend. Staff is always friendly.
Rough around the Edges
This is definitely a shot makers course. Not long but pin point accuracy is needed. Rough is natural and wild, hard to get out of. Enjoyable course though. I will play again while visiting my son at Shaw AFB.
Little gem in Sumter
Fun course greens fairways and tee boxes all in great condition last hole was awesome great value for 10.00 excellent course for beginners to seniors was not long so the low handicaps may not appreciate this was lots of fun
course was good greens were burnt due to snow the week before still putted good had a lot of breaks hd too wait o a 5ome in front that would not let u go thru other than that will play again
Love playing at the lake.
My brothers and I play at least 4 times a year there and we enjoy yourself each time we go
Great for price.
Great course for locals. Good value for moderate to high handicap players.
Course layout was whack had to search for tee boxes for several holes
Can't beat paying $15 for a round of golf.
Best course for the money in the area
This course is very popular w/ the locals. It's fun and challenging. Clubhouse is ok but could be better. Staff is top notch.
Good day out
Challenging par fives and some good par fours with strategic dog legs right and left
Passing through? Hot Deal worthy.
Fun course. Pretty short but if you get out of control going for the gusto tee shot you could land yourself in trouble. There are shortcuts available but you better be accurate. If you're "on" with your driver and wedge game you could really go low here. This course is a perfect warm-up for drivers heading towards Myrtle.
slow and not fun
Greens were awful....staff was awful....walkers were rude....I play fast and waiting 8 minutes for a shot was terrible....more of a social event at a seniors center
You have to play it to appreciate it
The Course is in great shape. Has some really challenging holes on the back 9.
A Fun Course To Play
This course has some challenging holes to play with plenty of water, doglegs, hazards, and bunkers to deal with on some of the holes, especially on the back nine. The greens had been aerated but putted okay. They will be better in the coming weeks. The fairways are in good shape. If you get in the rough, it is hard to hit a good shot out of it. On hole 18, you have to hit across the lake to the green. This is a public course. Not your country club atmosphere. We enjoyed playing here. I will return to play here again.
ECONOMICAL
COURSE WAS IN FAIR CONDITION AND WAS NOT TOO DIFFICULT FROM 5800 YDS WHITE TEES BUT SENIOR TEES AT GOLD PLAYS 5500 TDS SO WOULD LIKELY BE BETTER FOR SHORTER HITTERS. RATES OF $17.00 WELL WORTH PLAYING THIS COURSE!!
This course is very well kept to be in a public park.
I really enjoyed this course. It was worth the travel to play. Will be looking to play this course again.
